Adventure Alternative offered medical electives for students wishing to combine their clinical placement with the experience of differing lifestyles, cultures and medical treatment in developing countries. Placements operated across several areas of Kenya, Tanzania and Nepal.

Medical placements abroad

This brochure was aimed at students keen to undertake their elective overseas. Adventure Alternative integrated medical students with the local community and provided security and support through a strong network of representatives and staff based in Kenya, Tanzania and Nepal.

All arrangements with the hospital or clinic were set up in advance, with staff back-up to introduce students to life in East Africa or Nepal and to assist with the working routine.

What was included

The programme aimed to make each stay comfortable and secure without missing out on the essence of being in such diverse continents. Students were provided with:

  • All the facilities needed for the placement
