SUMMER BARRETT BOYCE BROCHURE

Many holidaymakers are now realising that the Alps are not just a winter destination. Megève has as much to offer in the summer as it does in the winter. In the summer, we welcome guests to the Clos Joli on a bed and breakfast basis and can arrange any of the following activities, all payable locally in Megève.

Golf: On the Mont D'Arbois plateau, golfers will find a superb 18 hole golf course in wooded landscape extending over 50 hectares. The club-house with its magnificent terrace looking out onto the mountains is the perfect setting for a relaxing drink after a round of golf. The Savoie Mont Blanc golf pass is great value for money and entitles you to play five of the nine golf courses in the region.

Walking: We can arrange guided rambles or hikes for a half or a full day depending on how energetic you're feeling. Megève is a walker's paradise with over 300 kilometres of walking trails. Mid and high mountain rambles around the town get you off on the right foot with a wide choice of scenic routes.

Cycling: There are countless pleasant rides through meadows and pastures or along the many forest footpaths and steep tracks leading to mountain ridges: You'll have a huge choice of trails from gentle to difficult terrain, all within easy reach of the Jaillet and Mont D'Arbois cable cars as well as by the Rochebrune cableway.

Paragliding: Megève is the perfect place to try your hand at paragliding flights. This truly is a magical experience. A course of lessons can be taken or you could just enjoy a tandem flight with an expert.

Canyoning: With a wet-suit for protection, you can slide down rivers of fast running water and abseil down waterfalls. A team of specialist guides can teach you this thrilling sport.

Rafting: Close by, Italy's Dora Balta is known to experienced rafters as ‘The Colorado of the European Alps'. For the less adventurous the Arve is one of the best rivers for your first experience of rafting.
Horse Riding: Experience the Alps on horse back, trek through beautiful scenery and enjoy a day out in the saddle. Lessons and guiding can be arranged.

Tennis: Tennis enthusiasts have a great opportunity to improve their game with highly professional instructors on the 22 courts and 4 training walls Megève has to offer. A British coach can be arranged to help improve your game.

Jazz Contests: Megève's jazz club is internationally famous and during July and August the town centre opens its doors to many artists from all over the world. Come and enjoy seeing top musicians compete in this musical competition which takes place throughout the day and night in these magical surroundings.

Relaxation: Take a cable car to one of the many mountain restaurants and enjoy a leisurely lunch or drink. Stay in the chalet and relax in the sun on your balcony, admiring the views of Megève and the peaks surrounding it. Stroll through the pretty pedestrianised streets of the town centre and do a little shopping in the chic boutiques.

The Palais des Sports: This extensive sports centre boasts the following facilities: Outdoor Olympic swimming pool with water slide, indoor swimming pool and children's pool, climbing wall, table tennis, weights, gym, dance hall, saunas and Turkish baths, mini-golf, water carousel, indoor tennis courts and ice rink holding regular international ice hockey matches.
