The Gambia may only be a small country on the coast of west Africa, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with verve and vibrancy: it positively sings with life and colour. Since we first started travelling to The Gambia in 1987, we've seen the range and standard of accommodation improve greatly. Now you can stay in one of the original traditional style hotels such as African Village, or the lively and popular Kombo Beach with its poolside activities, or try something a little more extravagant like the all-inclusive option at The Sheraton or the sumptuous splendour of the Coco Ocean Hotel. All of these hotels provide access to the Gambia's amazing beaches, but also allow you the chance to explore the country more thoroughly.
