The Welsh Winter courses are based at home in Plas y Brenin, deep in Snowdonia. The mountains are accessible with moderate walks into high north and east facing shady slopes and cwms. While the winters are a little unpredictable, recent years have delivered some excellent snow and ice conditions, ideal for learning essential winter skills. A flexible course programme means the team can take full advantage of whatever Mother Nature serves up.
Snowdonia has everything on offer, whether you want to walk through peaceful, unspoilt fields and paths or scramble up exposed rocky ridges. The towering peaks of North Wales \u2013 Tryfan, Snowdon and the surrounding mountains \u2013 are riddled with technical scrambling and mountaineering challenges, while the beautiful lakes and rolling hills below provide a tranquil setting for more relaxing walks and rambles. On the Summer hillwalking and mountaineering courses, highly skilled instructors help you gain all the skills, techniques and, most of all, the confidence to travel further in the hills under your own steam.
