Menorca Country House Brochure

Menorca Country House – Matchani Gran – is a delightful twelve bedroom eighteenth century Menorcan country house and working farm, set within 25 acres of tranquil countryside. This typically Menorcan farmhouse is very large and has been lovingly restored to its original splendour.

A Restored Eighteenth Century Farmhouse

At the heart of Menorca Country House lies Matchani Gran, a substantial farmhouse that has been carefully brought back to its former glory. Set across 25 acres, the property offers sufficient grazing for the farm's ever increasing flock of sheep and its two donkeys, George and Isabella, who in the dry summer months are grateful for kitchen scraps such as toast, potato peelings and their favourite, spaghetti.

Facilities and Sanctuary

The house offers complete sanctuary, a place to relax, unwind and over-indulge. Among the highlights are:

  • Twelve bedrooms within the spacious farmhouse
  • A 35ft heated swimming pool
  • A 100ft converted barn for dining

Half of the two hundred foot barn has been tiled, with the beams stripped and stained, and now houses Shaun's spectacular collection of antique farm implements, including six beautifully restored carriages, ploughs and other artefacts.

Privacy and Atmosphere

Shaun and his partner offer an extremely informal, relaxed and stress-free atmosphere at Matchani Gran. As the house is not open to the public and only guests and their friends may use the facilities, complete privacy is assured.
