ACTIVE PEAK BROCHURE

Whether you're a hardened hiker or fair-weather walker, seriously good cyclist or laid-back biker, the Peak District offers plenty of scope to get active. Challenge yourself on a bracing moorland walk or soaring gritstone edge. Stretch your legs with a leisurely stroll along a leafy footpath or riverside walk.

Tackle a tough upland route on your mountain bike or let an electric bike take the strain and enjoy the scenery it's up to you.

Walking
The Peak District has the widest possible choice of superb walks - from moorland treks to lovely riverside rambles.

Cycling
Whether you're a keen cyclist or haven't been on a bike for years, exploring the area by bicycle is the perfect way to wind down, get fit and relax - there are miles of traffic-free trails and cycle hire opportunities.

Horse Riding
Beginner or experienced rider, with or without your own horse - find out about how to enjoy the glorious Peak District countryside on horseback.

Watersports
Whether you fancy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking or canoeing, there are courses and taster sessions available with qualified instructors. For a more leisurely option, Rudyard Lake, Carsington Water and Tittesworth Water all hire out rowing boats.

Climbing
The sheer gritstone faces of Stanage Edge, Froggatt Edge and The Roaches will get your karabiners creaking at the prospect! Perhaps some expert help and guidance might be an idea with one of the many outdoor pursuit companies.

Flying - Whether you are new or experienced to airsports, you couldn't make a better choice of place to learn. Check out hang gliders or helicopter flights.

Golf - Drive the carbon-friendly way at one of the many golf courses, driving ranges and pitch and putt venues.

Indoor Activities - Head for cover and enjoy a swim or a host of indoor sports at one of the area's leisure centres.

Hobbies - Get in touch with your creative side and try a new activity or take a refresher course to brush up on your skills.

Their impressive network of footpaths, traffic-free cycle trails and bridleways makes it a pleasure to stroll, pedal or take to horseback as you explore the area as fast or as slow as you want to.

Whatever sport or activity you choose, the skys the limit.
