Heatherlea is one of Britain's leading wildlife holiday operators, sharing the special wildlife of Scotland with guests from the top of Cairngorm to the beautiful islands around the west and north. Run by birders for birders, Heatherlea is described as Scotland's favourite birding, birdwatching and wildlife company.
Heatherlea bases most of its holidays at its 3 star hotel in Nethybridge, while also offering an increasingly popular range of short breaks under the GO FURTHER! banner.
Heatherlea was founded by Kevin and Caryl Shaw in 1991 at Heatherlea Guest House in Boat of Garten, six miles from the current location in Nethybridge. They began Heatherlea for the very best reason: they wanted to go birding with their guests. Both Kevin and Caryl left careers behind in Oxford to migrate north, and have never regretted the move.
The small guest house was full in its second year, and in 1998 the company responded to demand by moving to The Mountview in Nethybridge. From here, Heatherlea delivers holidays to hundreds of people every year.
