EXPLORE SCOTLAND: MORAY WHERE TO STAY GUIDE

From Tomintoul and the spectacular Cairngorms in the south, to the beautiful beaches and sparkling waters of the Moray Firth in the north, with two of Scotland's greatest salmon rivers, the Spey and the Findhorn, flowing from mountain to sea, Moray is able to boast some of the loveliest scenery in Scotland. Travelling through Moray you will discover panoramic views, rolling hills, heather moorland, and the rich fertile plains of the Laich of Moray.
Along the beautiful coast you can discover wonderful white sandy beaches, popular for watersports together with a string of fascinating fishing villages steeped in the industry's heritage. Enjoy spectacular views across the Moray Firth, visit Bow Fiddle Rock, an arch shaped rock formation at Portknockie or a local nature reserve at Findhorn Bay which is ideal for bird watching.
Moray is the home of Malt Whisky; legendary malt whisky distilleries are found dotted around the River Spey. Here you will find Scotland's Malt Whisky Trail, the only one in the world! Pay a visit to some of Scotland's finest distilleries for tours and tastings, as well as the Speyside Cooperage at Craigellachie, where you can see skilled craftsmen at work. Scotland's oldest working distillery, The Strathisla, in Keith, is one of the most picturesque in Scotland. Whilst in the area why not take part in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in May.
