Where once our 'green' holidaymakers travelled by ferry and coach, many now arrive by train, Eurostar and TGV. France is the only country which has a network of rural roads, and increasingly a network of cycle paths, which means blissful cycling away from the traffic. The slow pace of bicycle, where the gentle exercise makes room for each delicious evening meal, is ideal as a way of experiencing another way of living.
